H2 explores quantum indeterminacy and Heidegger phenomenology through blind contour drawings.
In reading and research, I come back to the writings and theories of Heidegger & Heisenberg again and again. I get the sense that there are similarities in Heisenberg’s Uncertainty Principle and Heidegger’s philosophical understanding about language and perception: the act of observing changes the nature of what is being observed. That what we know, as an area of knowledge itself, is more of a fluid state rather than hard and firmly established boundaries of knowledge.
(Sometimes) what we know changes; it is dependent on what is being viewed. Likewise, drawing is about learning how to translate what we see with our eyes to our brain in how we think to our hands as it moves on paper.
